Maybe What Your Winter is Missing is a "Wintercation"

Winter Reservation Opportunities at Inspiration Hills

Many of us may remember getting snowed in during the winter, with school canceled and a snow day declared. The thrill of a snow day is hard to replicate. Suddenly, the schedule clears, the day's expectations disappear, and we are free to enjoy a day of freedom. Whether that was sledding down a hill, building a snowman, or simply staying inside where it was warm, there was something special about having nowhere to be.

Maybe you have a picture of a cabin in the middle of snowy terrain hanging in your house. Many of us look at that image and say, “That looks peaceful.” That solitude is appealing. Why? Because we live chaotic lives. We keep our schedules full.

But maybe an image like that isn’t so far away. What if you traded your usual routine for a quiet weekend, where the biggest concern is what to do with a fresh blanket of snow? You don't have to travel to a remote mountain cabin to find that kind of escape. You can find it right here at Inspiration Hills.

Inspiration Hills has five cabins available for those looking to get away. Three smaller cabins sleep 4–5 people, while our two larger cabins can accommodate up to 10. With heated floors, Wi-Fi, and everything you need for a comfortable stay, including kitchenware, bedding, linens, and towels, you can spend less time worrying about the details and more time enjoying a change of scenery.

This is great for families looking for a weekend getaway. While you're staying, take advantage of our sledding hill located by the campground. Bring your sleds, bundle up, and enjoy an afternoon outside.

Looking for something a little more competitive? Check out our broomball court! Gather your group, split into teams, and see who comes out on top.  Friendly competition is a great way to make great memories together.

If sledding or broomball isn't your thing, you can also take advantage of our hiking trails. Winter gives the trails a different kind of beauty. The trees look different, the landscape changes, and the quiet of the woods offers a chance to slow down and appreciate God's creation.

Of course, spending time outside in the winter means you'll eventually need to warm up. That's where our dining hall comes in. Stop by our hot chocolate and coffee bar, grab a warm drink, and relax. Whether you're warming up after sledding or sitting around with friends and family, a hot drink on a cold day makes for a core winter memory.

While you're here, don't forget about meals. Many times in the Bible, we see Jesus do ministry by sitting down with people for a meal.  Sharing food is one of the simplest ways to bring people together. Instead of worrying about preparing every meal yourself, take advantage of meal options available for your group and spend more time enjoying the people around you.

There are plenty of ways to enjoy winter at Inspiration Hills, but perhaps the most important thing you can do is take a break. We spend so much of our lives moving from one thing to the next that we sometimes forget to slow down. A weekend away gives you a chance to reconnect with family, spend time with friends, enjoy God's creation in any season, and step away from everyday distractions.

You don't have to wait until summer to experience what Inspiration Hills offers. Whether you're looking for a peaceful cabin getaway, a place to host your next retreat, or simply an excuse to get outside and enjoy the snow, there's a place for you here.

Maybe that picture of a cabin in the snow doesn't have to stay on your wall. Maybe it can become your next weekend away. We hope to see you this winter at Inspiration Hills!
