Ron Den Hartog, Executive Director of Inspiration Hills, was born and raised around Pella, IA. Ron attended Central College in Pella where he received his BA in Music. He also went on to get his Master's Degree in Music Education from Drake University . After several years of teaching music, Ron went into Youth Ministry in southern Iowa. In 1986, Ron became the Youth Ministry Director at the Regional Synod of the Heartland in Orange City, IA. Ron also spent two years with Group Publishing in Colorado. The last 10 years, he has been the Ministries Coordinator at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center, IA.Ron is happily married to Judy and have two married daughters, Michele and Brenda. They also have three grandchildren who provide them with a lot of joy and fun. Ron and Judy particularly enjoy pulling their boat to any lake to bass fish. Ron also enjoys playing various musical instruments.

Calvin Ver Mulm , Director of Ministries, is a native of northwest Iowa, born and raised in Hull. He is a graduate of Northwestern College, and Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. After seminary he served as Campus Chaplain for Jackson County Ministries in Annville, Kentucky for 6 years. It was there that he fell in love with camp ministry. In 1995, he was called to Camp Shalom in Cambridge, Ontario to serve as Classis Youth Director. There he ran the summer camp program as well as supporting local youth leaders.The Ver Mulm's arrived in March of 2002, and Calvin is enjoying being a part of the ministry at Inspiration Hills while leading the Summer Camp program as well as several other specialty programs during the year. Calvin and his wife Jane have four children; Curtis, Andrea, John and Abigail. Jane is a teachers assistant in the Canton School District and enjoys singing, cooking and volunteering.

Daisy Langton, the Ministries Assistant, is a native of Montana getting her teaching degree from Western Montana College. She taught school for 20 years in Montana and South Dakota. When the Langtons moved to Iowa in 1992, Daisy began working at Inspiration Hills as part time help in the cleaning & kitchen areas. In 1997, she was asked to work 2 days a week in the office as well as clean and cook. When the management titles were changed in 2000, Daisy’s job description changed to Ministries Assistant. Daisy and her husband ‘Red’ live on a large feedlot east of Inspiration Hills where Red’s responsibility is to feed cattle. Their greatest joy and blessings in life are their four children, spouses, and six grandchildren: Beth, and Shannon; Benjamin, Sherri, Mari Lee and Ahman; Brett, Crystal, BrieAnna, Cordell and CyLeigh; and youngest son Bandy and Elizabeth. In Daisy's spare time she likes to fly fish with Red, paint pictures on old wood, do crafts, garden and play with her grandchildren.

Kristi Carpenter, our Office Manager, grew up on a farm southwest of Canton, South Dakota and now lives on an acreage just outside of Canton. Kristi is married to Ed, who works in the Hog Procurement Office at John Morrell in Sioux Falls. They have four daughters: Kala, Abby, Kate and Ally who range from sophomore to second grader. The Carpenter's also have a very spoiled Basset hound/Beagle named Charlee. Kristi went to Stewarts School of Hair Styling just out of high school and has worked off and on as a beautician for 9 years. She has experience in many fields, but one of her favorite past jobs was as the Office Manager at the Canton United Methodist Church. Kristi and her family are very active members there. When she has spare time, Kristi likes to spend it with family, watching movies, singing with the church choir, riding their horse Maggie, reading, or sitting on the bleachers while watching any of their girls in any sporting event. Go.....C-Hawks!!!!!!!!!

Terry Dozark, has been in charge of Building & Grounds since 2000. He came here after 21 years of cutting meat at Sunshine Markets, and owning his own business for 7 years. Terry grew up in Canton, SD and met his wife Laura in high school. They now live on the grounds of Inspiration Hills. They have 4 adult children and two grandchildren: Abby and husband Troy, Inwood, IA; Amy & husband Myron, Inwood, IA; Cory and wife Jamie, Rock Valley, IA; and Angie, and husband Chad who live in Inwood with their three children Tate, Adison and Emma. Everyone that knows Terry knows he likes NASCAR and any type of racing.

Laura Dozark, helps with housecleaning and Buildings & Grounds as well as serving on the board of the Ladies Auxiliary at Inspiration Hills. Laura grew up a Pastor’s kid as her father was the minister in Canton for several years and was where she met Terry. Laura ran a Day Care in her home while her own children were young, worked at a local Lumber Yard, and Hiawatha Heights Assisted Living Unit in Canton, SD. Laura loves to read and do various crafts in her leisure times.

Case Van De Stroet, assists Terry with Building & Grounds for two or more days each week. Case is a retired farmer, and lives in Canton, SD with his wife Alice. They have two married children in this area and 4 grandchildren. Case keeps busy helping a lot of people in various ways..

Donna Tilstra, began cleaning two days a week at Inspiration Hills in October 1996. Donna and husband Merle grew up in the Inwood area and raised their children on a farm west of Inwood. They now live east of Inwood on an acreage. They are the proud grandparents of 3 grandchildren from daughter Lisa and husband Paul, plus 2 grandsons from daughter Jamie and husband Paul, and son Jaris, who is attending NCC in Sheldon. Donna
enjoys working at Inspiration Hills because the staff is a spiritual team
with Monday morning staff meetings where praise and prayer is a big part. She especially enjoys the summer camp
weeks with eagerness of the campers.

Netta Larson, started as an assistant cook in May 2002 and now is the Kitchen Manager doing the menus, ordering, hiring and scheduling plus taking her turn being the head cook. She worked 12 years in the kitchen at Canton School District, and still works in the District. The staff soon realized that Netta likes to bake and loves to spoil the staff with freshly baked pastries. Netta and husband Doug live on a farm north of Canton and have 3 children, Josh, Stacie and Kacie.
